Seems like this week’s blog posts are going to be all about the senses 🙂
I’m adding this incredibly beautiful book today, as a reminder to myself (or rather a jolt into action) to finally pick it up again – I will read it in full, and take my time to work with the exercises described within it more deeply.
Dance Imagery for Technique and Performance by Eric Franklin
It was given to me as a gift a couple of years ago, and I loved it.
However, this was just around the time I had started struggling with an old (pre-dance) injury, and the journey to become pain-free again would eventually last for more than 5 years.
So, as I was gradually dancing less and less, and had even started losing my joy of movement (hence the name of this blog; it’s a celebration of all that I appreciate even more now and all I have learned/am learning about movement because of it) working with this beautiful book – filled with pictures, examples, challenges and excercises for dance practise and performance – did not make much sense to me anymore.
Now, things are different.
So this book is going right back on the list.
I will (re-)start working with it when I finish reading the cloud book – at latest January 1st, 2019 – and I will write about my findings in this blog.
